Some yards just reach a point where patching it up isn't worth it anymore. The ground is uneven, bare spots keep coming back, and no amount of overseeding fixes the real problem underneath. That's exactly where this yard was when we got the call.
We started with the dirt work - bringing in fill, dumping and spreading topsoil, and working the ground until we had a clean, even base to work with. This part of the job doesn't get much attention, but it's everything. If the grade is off or the soil isn't right, the lawn you put on top of it won't last. We don't skip steps here.
Once the grading was done and the surface was smooth, we got the new lawn installed and covered it with straw to protect the seed. That straw layer matters more than people think - it holds moisture, keeps the seed from washing away, and gives everything a better shot at taking root. The prep work is what makes the finish work.
What you end up with is a lawn that actually has a foundation under it. Not just seed thrown on hard, compacted ground - but a properly built yard ready to grow. The difference between a lawn that struggles and one that fills in thick and healthy almost always comes down to what happened before the seed ever hit the dirt.
This is the kind of work we do at Northern Concrete And Landscaping. Dirt work, grading, lawn installation - we handle it all start to finish so nothing gets overlooked along the way.
