Wood chips on a playground aren't just about looks. They're the cushioning layer that sits between a kid and the ground when they take a tumble off a slide or a spring rider. When that layer gets thin, compacted, or worn down to bare dirt in the high-traffic spots, the play area stops doing its job. That's exactly what Story Book Kids Daycare was dealing with before we came out.

We refreshed the entire playground at Story Book Kids with a full load of clean wood chips - covering multiple play zones spread across a large fenced outdoor space. The area includes everything from a big main play structure with slides, to spring riders, a dome climber, a covered sandbox area, and a whole section of toddler-sized playhouses and ride-on toys. Multiple distinct play areas. All of it needed attention.

Getting material spread evenly across a space like this takes more than just dropping a pile and raking. We brought in equipment to move and distribute the chips efficiently across every zone - right up to the fence lines and around the play equipment. The goal is consistent depth throughout, not just coverage where it's easy to reach.

Fresh wood chips do a few things at once. They cushion falls, which is the obvious one. But they also help with drainage, cut down on mud, and keep the play surface looking clean and well-kept. For a daycare, that last part matters to parents too - first impressions of an outdoor space carry real weight.

This kind of work fits right in with our landscaping services. Whether it's a commercial property like this one or a residential backyard play area that needs new ground cover, the approach is the same - get the right material in place, spread it properly, and leave the space ready to use.
