A single cracked step is one of those things homeowners put off fixing - until it becomes a real hazard. That was the situation here. The original step was poorly poured and just not doing the job anymore. So we pulled it out and started fresh.
We formed and poured two new concrete steps leading up to the front entry, giving the approach better height and a safer, more comfortable rise. The new steps are wider and properly formed, which makes a noticeable difference in how the entry feels day to day. It's not just about looks - it's about something that holds up through regular use and hard winters.
By the garage, we poured an additional concrete slab to give that side of the home a solid, finished landing area. No more stepping onto bare ground coming out that door. Clean edges, proper control joints scored in - the kind of flatwork that's built right from the start.
We also took care of the lawn sections that needed attention around the work areas. Seed was laid down and covered with straw to protect it and give it the best shot at establishing well. It's a detail that matters - concrete work alone doesn't finish a job if the surrounding ground is left bare and rough.
The whole scope here - steps, slabs, and new lawn - is a good example of how we approach these kinds of jobs. We don't just fix one piece and walk away. If something else needs attention to make the finished result look and function right, we handle it.
